Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking a Data Center Facilities Technician to manage operations of our pilot data center in San Francisco. The role requires hands-on mechanical work, maintenance of cooling systems, and coordination with subcontractors.

This in-office role emphasizes velocity and practical problem-solving to support high-performance infrastructure. You will oversee daily operations, perform maintenance on air-cooled chillers, CDU systems, and rack manifolds, and help develop SOPs while ensuring

Qualifications

• 3+ years in facilities management or data center operations.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, cooling, and electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with subcontractors and work independently.
• Familiarity with coolant handling and leak detection dyes (PG25).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the data center and ensure systems function optimally.
• Monitor and maintain air-cooled chillers, CDU systems, and fan coils.
• Perform hands-on mechanical tasks, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of facility systems.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
• Engage and coordinate with subcontractors for specialized tasks or repairs.
• Serve as primary point of contact for all facility-related inquiries and issues.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and service requests.
• Assist in developing SOPs for facility operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Promote a safe working environment for personnel and visitors.
