Amazon in Sterling, VA seeks an experienced Data Center Operations Manager to uphold reliability and efficiency of our critical infrastructure. You will lead 24x7 engineering teams, drive improvements, coordinate with vendors, and manage budgets while serving as the on‑call Facility Manager after hours.

The role requires strong leadership, budget acumen, and deep knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems within mission‑critical environments. An impactful contributor to our global infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience with 5 or more direct reports.
• 3+ years of industrial electrical or mechanical systems experience.
• 3+ years of administrative experience, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

• Knowledge of critical data center operations electrical and mechanical systems (feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, CRAC units).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or 5+ years of experience in a data center or similar mission‑critical environment with a focus on equipment operation.
• Experience communicating technical details verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work in an environment that requires walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.
• Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions.
