Job summary

DC BLOX in Greenville, SC is seeking a Data Center Facilities Engineer to support mission-critical infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on electrical and mechanical systems, preventative maintenance, and safety compliance to ensure high availability for clients.

You will assist the Data Center Manager and coordinate with vendors, participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, monitor metrics like PUE, document procedures (MOPs/SOPs), and help drive process improvements across the data center

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of critical electrical systems in a data center or similar environment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with fire detection and suppression systems used in mission-critical environments.
• Experience monitoring electrical and mechanical systems, including CT management and threshold/alarm notifications.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure monitoring technologies (EPMS, BMS, SCADA, DCIM).
• Basic knowledge of documentation standards (MOPs, SOPs, RCAs).
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to document operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electrical systems including power, generators, UPS, switchgear, PDUs, busways.
• Operate and maintain mechanical systems such as CRACs, chillers, cooling towers, fire detection/suppression.
• Oversee third-party vendors to ensure alignment with DC BLOX standards.
• Support preventative maintenance programs, MOPs, maintenance schedules, and vendor coordination.
• Assist Site Manager with customer interactions during installations and service activities.
• Adhere to DC BLOX policies including change control and SOPs.
• Maintain operational readiness and high availability of facility systems.
• Follow safety protocols and promote a safety-first culture.
• Complete and submit operational/compliance reports to Site Manager.
