Job summary

Element Critical is seeking a Data Center Facilities Engineer to oversee operations and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure in a Houston data center. The role emphasizes after-hours support, on-call duties, and hands-on management of electrical and mechanical systems.

The position requires experience with diesel generators, UPS, HVAC equipment, and building automation, plus adherence to safety policies and documentation practices. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a critical infrastructure facility (data centers, nuclear, semiconductor, or pharma).
• Experience with standby diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, AHUs, CRACs, chillers and pumps.
• Ability to work 24/7 with on-call rotation and after-hours support.
• Knowledge of safety policies and PPE requirements.
• MS Office proficiency and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and readings of equipment and facilities.
• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours support.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facility events.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and work within SOPs.
• Record and track work in CMMS and update engineering logs.
