Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Critical Facilities Engineer to support a data center client in Sterling, VA. The role focuses on the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure 100% uptime for mission-critical servers.

On shift, you will oversee power distribution, oversee equipment upkeep, and manage contractors and vendors, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and rapid response to incidents.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in the U.S Navy (Nuclear) or 2 to 5 years of critical-environment experience.
• Advanced knowledge of medium (25kV) and low (120/208 and 277/480) volt systems including UPS, PDU, transformer, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of generators, coolers/cooling plants, and electrical system
• Advanced knowledge of CRAH/CRAC systems.
• Able to apply basic computer knowledge and experience in order to facilitate the ticket process.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper distribution of power within the facility and to equipment racks.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and prompt repair of equipment, as needed.
• Manage contractors and vendors. Institute and maintain maintenance contracts for equipment.
