Job summary

Vantage Data Centers in Ashburn, VA seeks a Critical Facilities Engineer to maintain and repair data center infrastructure, including UPS, PDUs, diesel generators, and building controls. This in-house role requires hands-on experience and strong problem-solving to ensure 100% uptime for customers.

You'll work with a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, respond to emergencies, coordinate vendors, and document procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years, 5+ years preferred, hands-on experience with the maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities.
• Ability to read commercial building blueprints and electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of data center electrical distribution, HVAC, and building control systems.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours, weekends, and on-call.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and service critical Data Center systems (UPS, PDU, diesel generators, building controls).
• Develop reliability reports to ensure uptime targets are achieved and maintained.
• Coordinate maintenance vendors and ensure personnel safety and power to the critical load.
• Create MOPs, SOPs and EOPs to document maintenance activities.
• Respond to safety and emergency situations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain high uptime and deliver customer-focused service.
