Job summary

Smartlink is seeking a Data Center Estimator to prepare takeoffs, BOMs, and cost estimates for OSP fiber, ISP cabling, and data center projects nationwide. The role supports pre-sales, bidding, and handoff, collaborating with sales, engineering, and field teams to deliver competitive, buildable proposals.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in telecom, structured cabling, or data center estimating, project engineering, or project coordination.
• Ability to read civil drawings and building plans for OSP/ISP/data center projects.
• Strong understanding of OSP fiber construction, ISP cabling, and data center infra.
• Proficiency with Excel and take-off/estimating tools (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Accubid).
• Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs and specifications to define OSP, ISP, and data center scopes.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for OSP, ISP, and data centers.
• Develop complete cost estimates including materials, labor, and equipment.
• Coordinate with sales, engineering, and PMO to align scope and pricing.
• Prepare proposal packages with scope narratives and exclusions.
• Lead estimate-to-operations handoff and support change orders.
