Job summary

Suffolk Construction seeks an Assistant Estimator to support pre-construction and bidding efforts. You will assist with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, and bid package preparation, coordinating closely with the Estimating team on design development stages and value engineering.

The role requires a relevant bachelor's degree and 2–3 years of estimating experience, with strong Excel skills and familiarity with common estimating software. Office-based with site exposure as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field (Electrical/Mechanical/Construction Management/Architecture).
• 2–3 years of estimating or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of Excel and Word processing programs.
• Experience with estimating software such as Intellibid, Accubid, Timberline, OST, MC2.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for SD, DD and CD phases.

Responsibilities

• Assist with subcontractor solicitation and bid list updates.
• Support scoping, bid packages, and pricing communications.
• Coordinate with subs to obtain pricing, clarifications and addenda.
