Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Oregon seeks a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot critical electrical and mechanical equipment in AWS data centers. The role ensures 99.999% uptime and seamless operations for mission-critical infrastructure.

You will monitor BMS/EPMS, perform preventive maintenance, document changes, and support on-site contractors across multiple locations, with shifts up to 12 hours and occasional on-call duties.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS systems to ensure uptime.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Carry out rack installs and decommissions per SLA guidelines.
• Perform preventive maintenance and root cause analysis of equipment.
• Create technical documentation to support change management.
• Manage work requests from conception to completion and drive projects.
• Support onsite contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with procedures and laws.
• Accept shifts up to 12 hours; some sites have on-call rotations; may support multiple locations.
