Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Boardman, Oregon seeks a Data Center Engineering Technician to monitor and maintain mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring 24/7 uptime and safety across facilities.

You will perform rounds, troubleshoot equipment, support PMs, and coordinate with contractors while adhering to internal processes. Travel between sites and variable shifts up to 12 hours are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire-life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Work schedule changes depending on specific site needs. Shifts can be up to 12-hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
