Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to monitor and maintain mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems across AWS data centers. You will perform rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, troubleshoot issues, support PMs, and coordinate with contractors.

Travel may be required; shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule. On-site at multiple data center sites. Eligible candidates may relocate with a lump-sum stipend.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS and troubleshoot events.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM activities, root-cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• On-site support of contractors and vendors per established practices and local law.
• Coordinate shifts and potential on-call rotations across sites.
