Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Wink, TX is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to help maintain mission-critical facilities, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, cooling systems, and related equipment.

You will perform daily rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, and support change management to sustain 99.999% uptime. The role requires travel between data centers, willingness to work long shifts, and collaboration with contractors and vendors.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical facilities maintenance or 1+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Technical writing to support change management
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors; ensure compliance with practices and local legislation
• Shift changes up to 12 hours; on-call rotations; may support multiple sites
