Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Covington, GA is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to safeguard mission-critical infrastructure and ensure 99.999% uptime.

You will be on the front lines of electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and PM for data center facilities including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems. Travel between sites may be required; flexible schedules and on-call rotations possible.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors ensuring adherence to practices and local legislation.
• Work schedule changes; shifts up to 12 hours; may rotate; some locations on-call.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
