Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering internship to support data center design, equipment submittal reviews, and incident response across regions. You will work with cross-functional teams and gain hands-on experience in scalable data center operations.

Applicants should be enrolled in an accredited program in the United States, commit to 12 weeks, and be able to relocate as needed. Starting dates include Winter, Summer, and Fall 2027.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics.
• Valid and active driver’s license.
• Enrolled in an academic program located in the United States.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to a 12 week internship maximum.
• Relocation to internship location.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline with expected conferral between Oct 2027 – Dec 2030.
• Experience with calculation/data processing tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of building/industrial power systems and mechanical systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers in your region.
• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Support operational issues with training, SOP reviews, and event support.
• Interface with data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, EHS teams to promote standards.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes across regions.
