Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. offers a hardware development engineering internship across multiple US locations, including Columbus, OH.

It is a full-time internship with 40 hours/week, starting Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027, with locations and start dates discussed during the process. You will be the go-to engineering resource for your region, supporting data center projects from design inception through site improvement, and collaborating with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics.
• Valid and active driver's license.
• Are enrolled in an academic program physically located in the United States.
• Are 18 years of age or older.
• Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to a 12 week internship maximum.
• Can relocate to where the internship is based.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers in your region.
• Troubleshoot, conduct RCA and create CA documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training and SOP reviews.
• Interface with internal data center design engineering team, server hardware team, EHS to maintain standards.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
