Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineer II for a 24-month contract onsite in O’Fallon, MO.

Bring hands-on experience with data center infrastructure, HVAC/CRAC, cabling, and enterprise hardware to support mission-critical environments. You will deploy end-to-end data center technologies, monitor alarms and power systems, manage rack installations, and maintain SOPs while collaborating with other teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with data center infrastructure.
• HVAC/CRAC, chillers, air handlers, UPS, switchgear, generators.
• Structured cabling copper/fiber and testing of cables.

Responsibilities

• Deploys data center end-to-end technologies.
• Track assets and cabling using standard documentation.
• Monitor alarms for data center equipment and MEP per vendor specs.
• Performs hardware installation & decommission of servers and cabling infrastructure
• Troubleshoots data center hardware and networking infrastructure
• Monitors SIEM for anomalies and takes action
• Racks and stacks data center equipment including servers and networking devices
• Rack installation includes placing racks, cabling, powering, and handoff to provisioning teams
• Monitors HVAC/CRAC, chillers, UPS, switchgear, generators, fire protection systems
• Documents and modifies SOPs for the data center
• Supports inventory by tracking parts and returns
• Installs structured cabling, labeling, and fiber/copper tes ting
• Manages data center power utilization and phase balance
• Walkthrough electrical and mechanical plant and raised floor area
• Schedules maintenance windows following change control processes
• Able to work in ladders/scaffolding and perform physical labor up to 125lbs

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Data Center Engineer II. This is a 24 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in O'Fallon, MO(Onsite).

Pay Range: $45/hr - $50/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Shift 1: Shift worked will be Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday 7AM-8PM
• Shift 2: Shift worked will be Thursday-Friday-Saturday 7AM-8PM
• Deploys data center related end-to-end technologies.
• Track assets and cabling using standard documentation.
• Monitor of alarms for data center equipment and associated MEP equipment per vendor specifications at the Centene data centers.
• Performs hardware installation & decommission of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure
• Troubleshoots and repair of data center hardware and networking infrastructure
• Monitors security information and event management (SIEM) system for anomalies and take appropriate action when necessary
• Racks and stacks of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring systems and other equipment
• Rack installation includes putting racks in place, cables, power up and hand off servers to internal provisioning teams
• Monitor all mechanical and electrical systems including but not limited to: HVAC/CRAC, chillers, air handlers, UPS, switchgear, stand by generators, clean agent fire protection systems, sprinkler and fire detection
• Documents and modifies standard operating procedures for the data center
• Supports the inventory process by keeping track of order replacement parts and return failed parts as required
• Installs structured cabling, performs labeling, and troubleshooting of fiber, copper, and telecom cables
• Manages datacenter power utilization by properly maintaining phase balance in cabinets
• Conduct regular walkthrough of electrical and mechanical plant and raised floor area
• Schedules maintenance windows for data center deployments, following all change management processes
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding, etc
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 125lbs.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Experience with HVAC/CRAC, chillers, air handlers, UPS, switchgear, stand by generators, clean agent fire protection systems, sprinkler and fire detection systems, Building Automation System (BAS)
• Experience with structured cabling copper/fiber, testing of cables, cooling, and electrical systems concepts inside the data center
