Job summary

Meta's Energy Team is seeking a commercially-experienced energy professional to grow and manage our data center portfolio, ensuring a reliable, cost-effective energy supply across regulated and organized electricity markets and natural gas transactions.

You will negotiate with utilities and gas pipelines, lead regulatory discussions, and structure energy supply contracts for new and existing data centers across the United States, including on-site and bridge power arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience navigating commercial energy issues across electricity and/or natural gas
• Experience representing business interests to leadership teams of suppliers, utilities, pipelines, governments, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
• Working knowledge of transmission, distribution, and utility interconnection processes, and natural gas transportation, storage, and pipeline interconnection
• Experience negotiating energy supply or fuel agreements, such as PPAs, ESAs, tariff arrangements, or natural gas supply and transportation contracts
• Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with internal staff, utility/pipeline providers, consultants, and external stakeholders
• Experience communicating commercial, regulatory, market, and contractual details to all organizational levels
• Proficiency in standard document and analytics platforms (Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Actively manage commercial relationships for data centers across diverse energy markets in the United States
• Contribute to regulatory processes and influence rate-making and energy supply solutions offered by utilities and market operators
• Develop and grow relationships with utility partners, market participants, regulators, policymakers, and stakeholders
• Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements enabling capacity and flexible energy delivery
• Source, negotiate, and execute natural gas supply, transportation, and storage agreements
• Support development of new supply solutions including bridge power and on-site generation
• Evaluate gas market fundamentals and generation economics to inform siting and cost of energy decisions
• Collaborate with legal teams to refine commercial arrangements for facilities
• Work with Site Selection to identify locations with energy infrastructure for data centers
• Interface with internal teams (on-site staff, sustainability, policy, communications, construction, legal, finance)
• Support ongoing development of Meta's energy supply strategy for data centers
• Stay informed on power and natural gas market developments and communicate trends and risks
• Lead and support various energy projects as needed
• Travel domestically (approximately 25%)
