Job summary

Meta is seeking an Energy Manager to oversee data center energy supply in the United States. You will manage commercial relationships, negotiate agreements spanning electricity and gas, and influence regulatory outcomes with utilities and market operators.

You will develop and execute on strategies for on-site generation, bridge power, and gas transport, while coordinating with legal, finance, and site teams. This role requires travel up to 25% and a strong track record in energy markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years navigating commercial energy issues across electricity and/or natural gas.
• Experience representing business interests to suppliers, utilities, pipelines, governments, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of transmission, distribution, utility interconnection, and natural gas transportation/storage.
• Experience negotiating energy supply or fuel agreements (PPAs, ESAs, tariffs, or gas contracts).
• Experience managing multiple projects with internal staff, utility providers, consultants, and external stakeholders.
• Experience communicating commercial, regulatory, market, and contractual details at all levels.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage commercial relationships for data centers across US energy markets.
• Influence rate-making and energy supply solutions offered by utilities and market operators.
• Develop relationships with utility partners, regulators, policymakers, and stakeholders.
• Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements for capacity and fuel supply arrangements.
• Source and execute natural gas supply, transportation, and storage agreements.
• Develop bridge power, on-site generation, and behind-the-meter projects.
• Evaluate gas market fundamentals and translate into siting and energy cost recommendations.
• Partner with legal to refine commercial arrangements for facilities.
• Assist Site Selection in locating energy-ready US locations.
• Interface with on-site staff, sustainability, policy, design, legal, and finance.
• Support development and execution of Meta's energy supply strategy.
• Stay informed of market and regulatory developments; communicate trends to management.
• Lead and support energy projects; travel domestically ~25%.
