Job summary

Meta is seeking an Energy Manager to lead commercial energy activities for our data center portfolio in the United States. The role focuses on regulated and organized electricity markets as well as natural gas transactions to secure reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable energy supplies.

You will negotiate with utilities, pipelines, and market operators, manage regulatory processes, and build relationships across legal, site selection, policy, finance, and operations to align energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a directly related field.
• 7+ years of experience navigating commercial energy issues across electricity and/or natural gas.
• Experience representing business interests to leaders of suppliers, utilities, pipelines, governments, and regulators.
• Knowledge of transmission, distribution, and natural gas interconnection processes.
• Experience negotiating energy supply or fuel agreements (PPAs, ESAs, tariffs, or gas contracts).
• Experience managing multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate commercial, regulatory, market, and contract details to all levels.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage commercial relationships for data centers across energy markets in the United States.
• Influence rate-making and energy supply solutions with utilities and market operators.
• Develop relationships with utility partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements for electricity, generation, and fuel supply arrangements.
• Source and execute natural gas supply, transportation, and storage agreements as needed.
• Support development of bridge power, on-site generation, and behind-the-meter projects.
• Translate gas market fundamentals and generation economics into actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with legal to refine commercial arrangements for facilities.
