Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Energy Marshal to oversee energy isolation and safety during electrical energization and construction activities. The role focuses on establishing and auditing isolation procedures, LOTO program management, and ensuring compliance across electrical systems in data center environments.

The candidate will drive improvements, mentor teams, and participate in high-risk activities, with emphasis on safety, quality, and reliability throughout the commissioning process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 4 years in energy isolation, safety, or related field.
• NFPA 70E Certification required.
• Experience with DC construction and commissioning standards.
• Ability to work with electrical equipment across voltages (AC/DC).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead energy isolation activities and ensure safe energization and de-energization.
• Oversee commissioning process from pre-energization through turnover to operations.
• Audit energy isolation procedures for safety and efficiency; act as SME.
• Manage electrical room access, permits, and LOTO program on site.
• Present complex energy concepts to engineers and non-engineers; participate in High Risk Activity meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement with project teams and ensure compliance with standards.
