Job summary

Google Sterling, VA is seeking a Facilities Technician to operate, monitor, and support data center facilities, including power distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, and safety compliance. You will inspect and repair data center systems, read blueprints, supervise uptime, and work with teams to optimize reliability while controlling costs.

The role requires an Associate's degree or equivalent, 5 years of electrical experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work non-standard

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or related technical training, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of electrical experience in industrial or commercial environments.
• Experience with electrical maintenance and electrical safety.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use PPE.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair data center systems.
• Provide daily assistance reading blueprints and schematics; tours of systems.
• Manage uptime and maintenance of UPS, generators, electrical distribution, and control/monitoring systems.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in data center facilities systems.
• Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems.
