Qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit for electrical design and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create resilient electrical distribution designs for data center environments.
• Build Revit models and drawings communicating power layouts and single line diagrams.
• Develop models for fault current, coordination, and arc flash analysis.
• Specify and size switchgear, gensets, UPS, transformers, and panelboards.
• Collaborate with architecture and other engineering disciplines for coordinated designs.
• Evaluate reliability strategies and redundant power architectures for high availability facilities.
• Support field reviews and construction during delivery.
• Communicate with owners, contractors, and equipment reps throughout project.
• Apply electrical codes and safety standards balancing uptime and economy.
• Mentor developing engineers and maintain project quality.

Data Center Electrical Engineer

Our client is seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer to help shape reliable power infrastructure for technically demanding, high availability facilities. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of electrical design, power system analysis, and project delivery while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary engineering team. Focus:

• Create resilient electrical distribution designs for data center environments, carrying concepts through coordinated construction documentation.
• Build Revit models and drawing packages that clearly communicate power layouts, single line diagrams, schedules, and design intent.
• Develop and evaluate electrical system models for fault current, selective coordination, and arc flash performance.
• Select and size critical power equipment such as switchgear, standby generation, UPS equipment, transformers, and panelboards.
• Partner with architecture and engineering disciplines to resolve interfaces and deliver practical, coordinated designs.
• Evaluate reliability strategies and redundant power architectures appropriate for high availability facilities.
• Participate in field reviews and construction phase support, helping resolve installation questions and confirm design intent.
• Communicate with project stakeholders, including owners, contractors, and equipment representatives, throughout delivery.
• Apply applicable electrical codes and safety standards while balancing uptime, constructability, and project economics.
• Contribute technical guidance to developing engineers and designers while supporting consistent project quality.

Skill Set:

• Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering or electrical engineering.
• At least 3 years of electrical design experience within a consulting engineering environment, with strong Revit capability for electrical design and documentation.
• Practical experience completing power system studies such as short circuit, protective device coordination, or arc flash analysis.
• Working knowledge of commercial or critical facility electrical distribution and the codes that govern electrical design.
• Clear communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to contribute effectively on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Data center or other high availability facility design experience is preferred.
• EIT or PE credential, or active progress toward professional licensure, is preferred.
• Experience with SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or comparable electrical analysis software is preferred.
• Familiarity with generator paralleling, UPS architectures, static transfer equipment, commissioning, or electrical power monitoring systems is a plus.
