Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the Data Center Design Engineering team. You will design resilient, cost‑effective electrical distribution systems to support a rapidly expanding data center footprint and strive for world‑class uptime.

You will lead design decisions, collaborate across teams and ensure compliance with codes while supporting commissioning and startup activities across multiple regions. A strong background in mission‑critical facilities is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities such as data centers, power generation or oil and gas.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
• United States Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Data center electrical designs and collaboration with other disciplines to create construction document sets.
• Create designs that meet quality and budget requirements.
• Work with local agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and building codes.
• Review and approve equipment submittals.
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.
• Work with commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
• Manage concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
• Travel to sites for reviews and work with onsite field engineers, providing engineering evaluations, audits, and startup as needed.
