Job summary

Saulsbury Industries is seeking a cost estimator for data center construction projects across Odessa, Dallas, Houston, and remote locations. You will own detailed estimates, determine manpower/equipment needs, and manage bid documents for complex electrical and instrumentation scopes.

The role requires experience with data center bids and heavy industrial facilities, plus strong communication. Travel to sites may be required as projects progress, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience with data center electrical and instrumentation estimating
• 3+ years industrial electrical experience
• Competitive bid experience with data center projects or in petro-chemical, gas processing, refining and other heavy industrial facilities
• Electrical and Instrumentation field experience highly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques
• Ability to conceptualize estimates without complete information
• Thorough understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities
• Knowledge of estimating software programs
• Occasional travel required
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, ethical, and team player willing to grow with the company

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates in accordance with the scope of work, data center blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare quantity take-offs, determining manpower, equipment requirements, material items and subcontractors
• Solicit quotes from material and equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and specified manufacturers
• Distributes and maintains control of bid documents
• Establish construction schedules
• Identifies special requirements for weather protection, cranes, hoists, temporary facilities and services or any/all other indirect cost associated with projects
• Ensure that all bid forms are completed and properly executed
• Reviews labor costs and applicable licensing requirements, Schedules and conducts bid review meeting with the Division Manager, Estimating Manager, and/or business line management to finalize bid, markup and bid strategies
• Coordinate with other employees during bid process on large proposals
