Job summary

Saulsbury Industries seeks a cost estimator to own bid estimates for data center projects, identifying risks, opportunities, and a winning strategy.

You will prepare detailed quantity take-offs for foundations, steel, pipe, and equipment; apply work-hour rates; review costs; and coordinate bid documents with procurement and project staff.

Occasional travel to sites and meetings is expected; strong communication and teamwork are essential to meet bid deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical estimating for EPC/data centers.
• 3–5 years in Oil & Gas or related data center projects.
• Knowledge of estimating software and best practices.
• Experience with competitive bids in heavy industrial facilities.
• Ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates in accordance with the scope of work to generate quantity take-offs for foundations, steel, pipe, and equipment.
• Apply work-hour unit rates for items to produce the overall direct hours.
• Understand construction equipment requirements and temporary facilities needs.
• Assist in soliciting quotes from material suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers.
• Distribute and maintain control of bid documents.
• Identify client or project requirements related to weather, cranes, hoists, and safety.
• Coordinate with other departments during the bid process and proposals.
• Facilitate bid review meetings with management to finalize bids.
