Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Design Manager to join its global design team. You will lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver high-quality, globally consistent DC designs within budget and schedule, while collaborating with internal and external partners across AWS.

The role requires 4+ years in mission-critical engineering and commissioning, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field, and strong knowledge of design development, permitting, and project

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• 4+ years of commissioning experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience researching new designs and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver quality and globally consistent DC designs within budget and schedule.
• Influence internal stakeholders, operations, and external consultants on design changes.
• Manage escalations and multi-disciplinary design decisions.
• Understand design development, change management, permitting with AHJs, and implementation lifecycles.
• Plan project management activities: critical path, risk, quality, and cost management.
• Oversee design consultant procurement, contracting, deliverables, and payments.
• Communicate with AWS Leadership and external partners, tracking metrics on schedule, cost, and quality.
