Job summary

PORR Deutschland GmbH is seeking a Design Manager to coordinate design delivery on a major data center construction project. You will oversee the design programme, RFIs and design reviews while managing consultants, subcontractor design teams and internal stakeholders.

Lead design coordination meetings, ensure buildability and value engineering, and align design with procurement, construction and commissioning requirements for critical facilities. Fluent English; German or Polish advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in architecture, civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in design coordination or design management.
• Experience in data centre, mission-critical, industrial, or MEP-heavy projects preferred.
• Good understanding of CSA and MEP coordination, design deliverables, RFIs, and technical reviews.
• Experience managing consultants and subcontractor design teams.
• Understanding of construction sequence, procurement requirements, and commissioning constraints.
• Experience with BIM coordination and CDE workflows desirable.
• Fluency in English; German or Polish language skills advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design programme and design deliverables on large data centre projects.
• Coordinate consultants, subcontractor design and internal teams; address client comments.
• Track RFIs, design changes, technical queries, and key design decisions.
• Lead design coordination meetings and technical workshops.
• Align design information with procurement, construction, inspection and commissioning needs.
• Manage the design risk register and escalate issues affecting cost, programme or quality.
• Support buildability, maintainability and value engineering reviews.
• Coordinate design interfaces between CSA, MEP, security, BMS, fire systems, telecoms and commissioning.
