Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Data Center Project Director to lead medium to large data center development and detailed design projects across multiple sites, ensuring cost, schedule, quality, and safety targets are met. You will staff projects, provide technical/domain knowledge, and guide cross‑discipline teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.
• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Project Complexity - Manages medium to large engineering projects involving multiple clients or partners, or small EPC projects with minimal risk.
• Number of Projects and/or Clients - Manages multiple services clients and/or a small EPC project client and/or projects where the project team, client structure and/or project location present challenges
• Client Management - Responsible for maintaining and nurturing client and industry contacts to aid in connecting with clients and selling services. Identify key client interests and drivers on projects and pursuits and communicate with team members. Obtains new/repeat business on medium to large size projects. Supports contract negotiations with clients.
• Risk to Black & Veatch - Manages risk which may include time and material, fixed price, new technology, non domestic markets or new clients
• Acts as a project manager among responsibilities is management of a project team
