Job summary

Newmark is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Engineer to provide operational support for our fast-paced tech campus data center in Albany, NY. You will maintain mechanical, electrical, security and fire protection systems critical to uptime of servers and mainframes.

With a minimum of 5 years in data center operations, you will monitor systems, run preventative maintenance, read blueprints, coordinate with contractors, and stay compliant with codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of data center operations engineering experience.
• CFC certification is a plus.
• Proficient computer and email skills.
• Familiar with Building Automation Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems.
• Must be able to complete required safety classes.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance and work order software systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Works well independently, as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical, electrical, security and fire protection systems.
• Identify faults and respond to emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local codes and standards.
• Perform preventative tests and analyze data on base building systems and critical equipment.
• Monitor and adjust chilled water, HVAC, electrical, and backup systems; record readings.
• Prepare maintenance logs and reports for systems condition.
• Coordinate contractor approvals for outside work and maintain logs.
• Read blueprints and schematics; follow SOPs and change control processes.
• Interact with all parts of the organization to handle service requests.
• Maintain organized building files.
• May be on-call after regular hours.
