Job summary

BW Design Group is expanding its data center controls team in the United States. As a Controls Engineer, you will deploy control systems, configure hardware, validate functionality, and support commissioning across large-scale data center projects.

The role requires significant onsite presence (75%+), willingness to travel up to 90%, or relocation near project sites. Experience with BMS/EPMS commissioning is highly preferred, with opportunities for growth within a dynamic, client-focused firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience starting up control systems with significant onsite time.
• Ability to spend significant time onsite 75%+.
• Must be open to travel 90% or relocate close to site (relocation assistance offered).
• Strong communicator and ability/desire to work within large teams.
• Experience with BMS and EPMS commissioning is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful deployment of multiple greenfield data centers; scopes will include BMS and EPMS.
• Receive the applications from the design team and deploy them to each site.
• Handle point-to-point checkout of thousands of devices.
• Configure communication protocols for multiple types of equipment including switchgear, breakers, and power meters.
• Configure and calibrate instruments (meters, VFDs, flow meters).
• Deploy and commission Ignition applications, Rockwell controls, and other similar control systems involving PLCs and SCADA.
• Provide on-site guidance and leadership to BW Design Group subcontractors (electricians).
• Become a key contributor on one of the fastest growing verticals at BW Design Group.
