Job summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling is seeking a Service Controls Engineer to diagnose and resolve complex controls, automation, and software issues in mission-critical HVAC and data-center cooling environments. You will analyze sequences of operation, troubleshoot BAS/DDC architectures, and guide customers and commissioning teams.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, field travel up to 50%, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to improve service performance and product

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with field experience in HVAC, controls, or cooling systems.
• Strong knowledge of control theory, BAS, DDC, PLCs and subsystems.
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and BAS communications protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform field troubleshooting on data center cooling controls and software.
• Review sequences of operation and validate corrective logic.
• Troubleshoot BAS/DDC architectures, controllers, relays, sensors, and networks.
• Assist with PLC programs, VFD startup, and commissioning.
• Tune control loops and document corrective actions clearly.
• Communicate findings to customers and internal teams.
