Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Manager for Data Center Construction in Bastrop, TX to own procurement and contract strategy for data center builds and capital equipment. The role collaborates with construction, facilities, engineering, and operations to deliver sites on schedule and budget.

You will lead supplier negotiations, develop procurement strategies, and provide budgetary analysis for multi-hundred-million-dollar programs, while traveling up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, operations, or construction; or 9+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in data center construction or large industrial projects is highly preferred.
• Strong contract negotiation and supplier management skills (AIA or similar documents).
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work long hours to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive contract management process for data center projects from design through commissioning.
• Create and execute equipment and services procurement strategies for civil, electrical, mechanical, and related CAPEX.
• Perform market analyses to optimize should-costs and secure best deals on packages and long-lead items.
• Create and negotiate contract documents with legal, including GC/CM, design-build, and service agreements.
• Track spend and budgetary risk; provide analysis to support multi-hundred-million-dollar programs.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships; ensure contract adherence and timely issue resolution.
• Present value propositions to management regarding contracts, cost reviews, and schedule risk.
• Identify cost reduction and schedule acceleration opportunities; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Perform quantitative analyses of financial impacts and KPI-driven performance for data center categories.
• Lead RFPs/RFQs for construction packages and capital equipment.
• Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices.
• Work to reduce transaction volumes and improve cycle times for critical path items.
