Job summary

Fleet Data Centers in Austin, TX is seeking a Construction Security Manager to oversee active data center construction security operations. This role partners with Construction, EHS, and Operations to implement Fleet security standards, manage guarding services, and ensure safe, compliant environments.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in physical security and 3+ years managing site security, preferably in data centers or critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in physical security or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years managing site security operations or guard forces.
• Experience in mission-critical construction or data center environments.
• Proven ability to develop security procedures, post orders, and access controls.
• Experience responding to incidents and documenting investigations.
• Strong cross-functional communication across security, EHS, and operations.
• Experience managing third-party security vendors and driving accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site security operations for the project following Fleet standards and contract terms.
• Manage security vendors, performance, reporting, staffing, and training.
• Develop and maintain security policies, SOPs, post orders, and procedures.
• Partner with internal teams to support evolving security needs across the project.
• Provide oversight for high-risk construction activities and material movements.
• Ensure adherence to access control, badging, and site rules; drive corrective action.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, protests, thefts, and other events with timely escalation.
• Escalate issues to leadership and coordinate with vendors to restore capabilities.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits of security controls and vendor performance.
• Support visitor management, screening, and key control; coordinate emergency response.
• Maintain records, incident reports, and metrics; provide leadership with status updates.
• Promote a culture of accountability and security standards across the project.
• Build relationships with project leadership, law enforcement, and partner teams.
• Identify risks early and drive corrective actions, audits, and compliance with security measures.
• Foster continuous improvement to deliver best-in-class security services across all phases.
