Job summary

Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Construction Safety Associate to support EH&S initiatives on a data center construction and expansion project in Romulus, MI.

You will provide on-site safety leadership, monitor contractor compliance, and conduct daily safety audits to promote a proactive safety culture across all activities. Collaborating with Project Management, EH&S personnel, and Owners Representative, you will ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and site safety

Qualifications

• Experience in construction safety or EH&S support.
• Ability to conduct inspections and document findings.
• Strong written and verbal communication with leadership and field personnel.
• Proficiency in safety reporting and documentation.
• Ability to work in active construction environments.
• OSHA 30 certification or higher (OSHA 510/500 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site safety leadership for assigned data center construction and expansion projects.
• Collaborate with Project Management, EH&S personnel, and contractors to ensure compliance with project-specific safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable safety standards.
• Conduct daily formal safety audits and inspections of active construction activities, identifying hazards, documenting findings, and tracking corrective actions through resolution.
• Serve as a technical safety advisor to the Owner’s Representative, providing guidance on site safety conditions, compliance concerns, and risk mitigation measures.
• Deliver site-specific safety orientations for new personnel and contractors, facilitate toolbox talks and site safety meetings, and provide technical safety training as needed.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and verify that safe work practices are followed throughout all phases of construction.
• Prepare and submit standardized safety reports documenting project safety performance, audit findings, identified hazards, corrective actions, and overall compliance status.
• Maintain accurate safety logs, inspection records, incident documentation, and other project safety files, ensuring reports are properly organized and tracked.
• Assist with external agency interactions, including OSHA inspections, information requests, and OSHA recordkeeping and log management, as appropriate.
• Communicate safety concerns and emerging risks to project leadership and recommend corrective measures to support a safe and compliant work environment.
• Support continuous improvement of site safety practices and promote accountability among contractors, subcontractors, and project personnel.
