Data Center Construction Project Manager - Kansas City, MO

This opportunity is with a leading general contractor specializing in data center construction services. We are seeking a Data Center Construction Project Manager to oversee critical facility construction projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of managing data center construction, including leading contractors and vendors. Projects will primarily be regional, with overall accountability for delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting scope and quality standards aligned with company design standards and project objectives. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and proficient in administrative tasks such as change orders, budgeting, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and organize large-scale data center construction projects (minimum $30 million)
2. Bring 10-15 years of experience managing data center construction projects
3. Develop project plans, including sizing, cost estimation, scheduling, and timelines
4. Maintain communication with clients, A/E firms, Owner's Reps, and vendors to facilitate construction activities
5. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate guidelines and create clear work statements for field teams
6. Manage financial aspects such as progress billing, equipment rental, and expenses to protect company interests while maintaining good client relationships
7. Oversee the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects of the project

Qualifications:

1. Experience managing data center construction projects with design/build firms, including ground-up and existing fit-outs
2. Relevant industry experience in data center construction
3. Experience managing projects with budgets between $25MM and $100MM+
4. Strong client-facing, relationship, and management skills
5. Familiarity with building system design processes for data centers and mission-critical projects
6. Business development experience, including creating RFPs and RFIs
7. Solid project management and construction experience
8. Military background or veterans with electrical/mechanical experience (e.g., Navy nukes, Seabees, Army power specialists, Air Force power production, etc.) is a plus
