Job summary

Owner/Developer is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead nationwide data center projects from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover. This owner-side role collaborates closely with the General Contractor, design teams, consultants and commissioning agents.

You will own project delivery, manage schedule and budget, and ensure safety, quality and alignment with the Owner's requirements across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction/project management.
• Strong data center or mission-critical experience.
• Experience with General Contractor or Owner/Developer roles.
• Delivery of complex projects from pre-construction to turnover.
• Excellent understanding of MEP, critical power and cooling.
• Experience with budgets, schedules, change management and contractor performance.
• Solid grasp of construction processes and GC oversight.
• Experience collaborating with owners, developers, design teams and commissioning agents.
• Ability to lead meetings and report to ownership.

Construction Manager – Data Center Construction

Nationwide Travel | Mission Critical Projects

I’m working with a leading Owner/Developer delivering large-scale, mission-critical data center projects across the United States.

They are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning and final handover. This is an owner-side position, working closely with the General Contractor, design teams, consultants, commissioning agents and key project stakeholders.

This is a 100% travel / on-site role

The Role

You will take ownership of project delivery on behalf of the Owner/Developer, providing oversight and leadership across design, construction, schedule, cost, quality, risk and commissioning.

You will work closely with the General Contractor and project teams to ensure construction is progressing in accordance with the approved design, programme, budget and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead owner-side project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover
• Provide oversight of the General Contractor and major project stakeholders
• Manage project schedule, budget, forecasting, cost reporting and change management
• Coordinate with design teams, consultants, commissioning agents and construction partners
• Monitor construction progress, quality, safety and overall project performance
• Oversee critical infrastructure including electrical systems, power distribution, cooling, MEP, low voltage and commissioning
• Review and challenge contractor programmes, schedules, budgets and change orders
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Lead project meetings and provide regular reporting to internal leadership and ownership
• Ensure design and construction activities remain aligned with the Owner's requirements
• Support commissioning, testing, closeout and final handover
• Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, vendors and internal stakeholders

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction/project management experience
• Strong data center or mission-critical construction experience
• Experience working for a General Contractor or Owner/Developer
• Proven experience delivering complex projects from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, critical power, cooling and technical infrastructure
• Experience managing/overseeing project budgets, schedules, change management and contractor performance
• Strong understanding of the construction process and ability to effectively manage General Contractors
• Experience working with owners, developers, design teams and commissioning agents
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with tools such as Procore, P6, MS Project, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel full-time to project sites across the United States
