Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking an Assistant Superintendent in Hermiston, OR. You will assist the Superintendent by managing field activities and supervising subcontractors and employees to keep the project on time and within budget.

This role requires 4–7 years of construction experience with a BS in a related field. You’ll coordinate with the project team, maintain safety and quality standards, and help manage project closeout and client relations.

Qualifications

• Exhibits commitment to quality by evaluating processes and meeting internal/external expectations.
• Proficient with PC and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Reviews and updates progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion on a regular basis.
• Participates in preconstruction planning regarding schedule and budget; reviews estimates and cost control.
• Understands project specs and contract; ensures materials and subcontract work meet docs and quality specs.
• Ensure all materials are properly tested and test results recorded.
• Directs and coordinates subcontractor and field personnel in designated areas of expertise.
• Assists Superintendent in communicating schedules, methods, policies, safety, and quality standards.
• Attends weekly project progress meetings and understands upcoming work.
• Assists in closeout to settle obligations and transition project to customer.
• Builds relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups.
