Job summary

PCL Construction is hiring a Concrete Journeyman for the Abilene, Texas project. The role involves safe operation, coordinating with other trades, and reading blueprints to determine procedures.

The project offers a 5x10 schedule and a base pay of $33–$35 per hour, plus a $10 incentive and opportunities for advancement. Applicants must meet pre-employment drug testing and have 48+ verifiable craft-trade experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48+ verifiable craft trade experience.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe work habits at all times and promote safety to others.
• Proficient working knowledge of and experience working with rotating equipment.
• Assist immediate supervisor with future tasks to be completed.
• Coordinate work with other crafts and co-workers on the job.
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Selects type and size of related materials according to the job specifications.
• Inspects bracing and shoring of concrete forms ensuring stability before and during pouring.
• Studies blueprint, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to the type of material required such as various mixes, admixtures, curing compounds, grouts, and sealants commonly used on an industrial site.
• Ensure proper permits have been obtained and can read & understand all permits.
• Prioritize tasks according to job schedule and work sequence.
• Assist in industrial carpentry, reinforcing iron and rebar, and site layout as needed.
