Job summary

ROSS Consultancy USA is seeking a Commissioning Manager for a hyperscale data center project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will act as the liaison between contractors and the Commissioning Authority to ensure submissions are complete and ready to pass the first time.

This role suits someone with an electrical or mechanical background who understands what good commissioning records look like and is comfortable sending back packages when they aren’t right.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commissioning on data center, mission critical or other complex projects.
• An electrical or mechanical background, whether from the trade, engineering or building services.
• Solid working knowledge of commissioning documentation, equipment tagging, testing and turnover.
• The confidence to challenge contractors and vendors when the work or the paperwork falls short.
• Hands-on and detail-focused, and comfortable working alongside client and contractor teams.

Responsibilities

• Check commissioning documentation, equipment tags and test records before they go to the Commissioning Authority.
• Make sure every tag and its records are complete, accurate and technically correct.
• Work with contractors and vendors to close gaps, push back on incomplete submissions and get items closed out.
• Review commissioning and turnover packages so they meet the standard the first time.
• Support the client-side commissioning lead on day-to-day activities and open actions.
• Track tag status, attend commissioning meetings and keep deliverables moving.
• Build good working relationships with site teams without letting standards slip.
