Job summary

KC Installation, LLC is seeking a Data Center Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage cabling and networking infrastructure in a fast-paced data center environment. You will work with fiber optics and network equipment, following ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI standards.

You will read blueprints, perform cable management, and coordinate with engineers and electricians while upholding safety protocols. Nights and weekends may be required based on data center schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
• Experience installing and maintaining low voltage cabling and networking equipment, preferably in data center environments.
• Proficiency with cable testing tools and network equipment
• Familiarity with ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI standards
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e/6/6A, fiber, coax) in data centers.
• Install and mount networking equipment (routers, switches, patch panels, firewalls) in server racks.
• Perform cable management, labeling, and patching per standards.
• Troubleshoot low voltage cabling and networking equipment; perform tests and inspections.
• Collaborate with data center engineers, electricians, and team members on installations and upgrades.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain safety and security per data center protocols.
• Keep records of installations, updates, and repairs.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
