Job summary

ActioNet has an opening for a Data Center Hardware & Cabling Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Suitland, MD. The role ensures servers, networking gear, and storage are installed, organized, and tracked within a government contracting environment.

Candidate must have 2+ years in a production data center or a relevant technical degree, and be able to obtain Public Trust. Evening shifts on Tue/Wed are required and some weekend work may apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a production data center environment or a degree in a relevant technical field.
• CNCI® or BISCI Certification required; CompTIA Server+ or Network+ Nice to Have.

Responsibilities

• Hardware Deployment & Maintenance.
• Rack & Stack: install, bolt, and secure servers, switches, and PDUs.
• Component Replacement: swap failed DIMMs, CPUs, drives, PSUs.
• Troubleshooting physical layer issues with remote teams, including weekends/evenings 25% of the year.
• Cable Management and structured cabling installation and maintenance.
• Labeling: maintain rigorous labeling for traceability.
• Asset & Inventory Management with DCIM for lifecycle tracking.
• RMA Management: shipping/receiving defective parts and logging serials.
