Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an on-site Telecommunications Cabling Technician to support a national telecom initiative at a data center in Virginia. The technician will install work area outlets, modular furniture, and wall boxes, drop cable with fish tape, route cables, and perform pre-termination tasks such as organizing, dressing, labeling cables, and ensuring proper slack.

You will work with cable trays, J-hooks, D-rings, and related hardware, verifying lengths and neat cable management.

Description TEKsystems is working with a national leader in the telecommunications industry as they partner with a global leader in information technology to build out the cabling infrastructure at their data center. Technicians will install a work area outlet for floor (i.e. monument), modular furniture (i.e. surface mount box) and wall (i.e. box eliminator). Drop cable down a wall using fish tape or other method. Route cable through modular furniture. Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack and label cables. Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapeze.
