Job summary

Tekvana Inc. seeks a hands-on Data Center Cable Management Technician to support rapid infrastructure growth across manufacturing and distribution facilities in Nashville.

You will organize, label, route, and secure copper and fiber cabling, install management systems, and document rack layouts and asset inventories. The six-month contract offers on-site work, 40-hour weeks, occasional nights/weekends, and potential transition to full-time based on performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in enterprise data centers or structured cabling.
• Ability to read rack elevations and network diagrams.
• Willingness to travel up to 35% and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Organize, label, route, and secure copper and fiber cabling in enterprise data centers and IDF/MDF closets.
• Perform complete cable remediation projects, including removing abandoned cabling and improving airflow.
• Install cable management systems including ladder racks, vertical/horizontal managers, Velcro, patch panels, and rack accessories.
• Patch and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic connections.
• Install and rack servers, switches, firewalls, UPS equipment, and other infrastructure hardware.
• Assist with equipment moves, adds, and changes (MAC work).
• Document rack layouts, cable paths, port assignments, and asset inventory.
• Maintain accurate labeling following company standards.
• Assist with network and server deployments during maintenance windows.
• Support data center cleanliness and organization initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams, vendors, and contractors during projects.
• Follow all safety, security, and change management procedures.
