Job summary

H5 Data Centers is seeking a Data Center Building Engineer to maintain essential mechanical and electrical systems across the campus. You will operate and optimize chiller plants, HVAC, cooling towers, water systems, and fire systems to ensure uptime and reliability for colocation customers.

You will work 12-hour shifts (4 days on/4 days off) reporting to the Facilities Manager, and will assist outside vendors/contractors on specialized projects and repairs.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years electrical and mechanical experience in high availability environments.
• College/Technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with electric and pneumatic controls.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures in daily operations.
• CFC refrigeration license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems in the data center.
• Assist vendors and contractors on maintenance and projects.
• Monitor infrastructure uptime and perform frequent inspections.
• Operate building controls for chillers, HVAC, cooling towers, and fire systems.
• Support basic security duties as needed.
• Coordinate with Building Engineer Lead.
