Job summary

Albireo Energy seeks a Controls / Automation Engineer with hands-on experience in PLC programming, SCADA development, and system integration to support its mission-critical data center infrastructure.

The role focuses on developing, deploying, and maintaining industrial control systems used in high-availability environments. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and IT/OT teams, and travel for commissioning as needed. This position is based in the United States.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field.
1+ years hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or SCADA development.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming (Studio 5000 / RSLogix500).
Experience developing or supporting SCADA/HMI systems, preferably Ignition.
Working knowledge of Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, OPC UA.
Industrial networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnets, switches, VLANs).
Ability to read electrical schematics, control diagrams, and P&IDs.
Willingness to travel for commissioning and deployment activities.
Based in Eastern or Central time zone.

Responsibilities

Develop, program, and maintain PLC control logic primarily using Allen‑Bradley / Rockwell platforms.
Design and configure Ignition SCADA applications, including HMI screens, alarming, trending, and data visualization.
Integrate PLCs, SCADA systems, and third‑party devices using Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet/IP, and OPC UA.
Support EPMS and other critical infrastructure systems within data centers.
Assist in system architecture, controls design, and network layout for industrial automation systems.
Participate in factory testing, site commissioning, and system startup activities.
Diagnose and resolve control system, SCADA, and communication issues in live environments.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and IT/OT engineers.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including control narratives.
