Job summary

Empower is seeking a Data Architect to serve as a hands-on technical expert shaping Empower's cloud and data architecture. The role partners with enterprise and senior architects, business leaders, and IT teams to modernize complex systems and translate experimentation into scalable patterns.

You will design end-to-end data solutions, champion security and resilience, and guide implementation with delivery teams, ensuring scalable, cost-efficient architectures in a dynamic financial services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in CS/IS or related field; equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years delivering data-intensive solutions in data engineering, analytics, or BI.
• 1+ year of solution design ownership for moderately complex initiatives.
• Experience across Data Engineer, ETL/ELT, Data Architect, and related roles.
• Strong grasp of architecture frameworks, performance optimization, security, and availability.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate architecture decisions clearly.
• Experience with AWS and Snowflake/Redshift for scalable data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Shape solution architectures aligned to a unified IT data strategy.
• Document target state architectures and reference architectures.
• Design and modernize complex systems to scalable cloud architectures.
• Prototype new technologies and contribute to business cases.
• Operationalize architectural standards, governance, and best practices.
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to design end-to-end solutions.
• Provide architectural guidance for process design and enterprise integration.
• Champion security, resilience, and cost-conscious design.
• Produce reusable patterns, decision docs, and lessons learned.
• Support full-stack teams through design and implementation for scalability.
