Job summary

ITAC Solutions, LLC seeks a Data Platform Architect in Birmingham, AL to design a modern enterprise data platform. You will lead data ingestion, storage, governance, and serving layers while hands-on developing with Python/Go and guiding AI-driven engineering initiatives.

This hybrid role operates across distributed teams and collaborates with executives to align strategy with business goals. The position requires 8+ years in data/engineering or architecture, deep SQL Server/SSAS/T-SQL

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience across data engineering, software engineering, architecture, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong expertise with SQL Server, SSAS, Azure Data Factory, and T-SQL.
• Experience with ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar columnar platforms.
• Production-level development experience in Python and/or Go.
• Experience designing event-driven architectures utilizing REST, Kafka, NATS, or CDC.
• Experience operating workloads within Kubernetes environments.
• Ability to drive AI-assisted engineering initiatives and platform strategy.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the target-state architecture for enterprise data platforms.
• Design data ingestion, storage, modeling, governance, and serving solutions.
• Build and support event-driven systems utilizing APIs, CDC, messaging platforms, and Kubernetes.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering and development automation initiatives.
• Establish data quality standards, governance, and security controls.
• Lead architecture reviews and mentor engineering teams.
• Translate business objectives into scalable technical roadmaps.

Compensation

• $115,000 - $140,000 base salary + bonus eligible
