Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Per Diem Billing Coordinator to gather, review, and approve internal claims, and manage insurance information and eligibility.

You will prepare data reports and submit claims via EDI, acting as a liaison with DMH and Medi-Cal, and tracking claim status. The role requires experience with EHR systems, knowledge of Medi-Cal or third-party billing, and familiarity with federal/state billing regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Working knowledge of Medi-Cal and/or third-party billing and reimbursement.
• Knowledge of billing requirements and collection regulations for Federal, State, and local agencies and third-party submissions.

Responsibilities

• Gather, review, and approve internal billing claims.
• Setup, verification and updating insurance account information and eligibility.
• Prepare related billing claims data reports and submit via EDI.
• Coordinate with LAC County DMH and Medi-Cal; track and report on claims.
• Assist in year-end final reports; support EHR application and training; liaison with software vendor.

Responsibilities

TheCoordinatorisresponsibleforgathering,reviewing,andapprovinginternalbillingclaims;setup,verificationandupdatinginsuranceaccountinformation;verifying eligibility;preparingrelatedbillingclaimsdatareports;coordinatesMedicalbillingclaimssubmissionviaelectronicdatainterface(EDI);functionsasliaisonwithLACounty-Dept.ofMental Health(LAC-DMH)andMedi-Cal; tracks and monitors billing claims and approval; provides monthly report analysis to Department Director assists in preparation for year-end final reports. Responsible for coordinating activities related to Electronic Health care (HER) application including user training, maintenance, application enhancement, develops new reports, and problem solving; functions as liaison with software vendor and lead trainer.

Pay Transparency

St. Francis Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $29.96. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
