Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking a Data & Analytics Support Specialist in Lexington, KY. The role focuses on implementing data pipelines, maintaining databases, and building BI solutions to support operational and strategic decisions within the International Center.

Under the Director of IT & Data Strategy, you will transform multi-source data into Tableau dashboards and visualizations, ensuring access to actionable insights and sustaining UKIC’s Global Footprint.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Data & Analytics Support Specialist supports the UK International Center’s (UKIC) data strategy initiatives by implementing data pipelines, maintaining databases, developing business intelligence solutions, and supporting business process automations. Working under the direction of UKIC’s Director of IT & Data Strategy, this position helps transform raw, multi-source data into public and internal Tableau dashboards and visualizations that support operational and strategic decision-making within the International Center. This position will be responsible for maintaining UKIC’s Global Footprint.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • SQL and relational database fundamentals (Azure SQL preferred)
  • Python scripting or other related languages
  • Experience working with REST APIs and structured data formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
  • Understanding of ETL concepts and data integration
  • Tableau Products (Prep, Desktop and Server)
  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate or similar automation tool)
  • Version control concepts (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document technical processes clearly
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
  • Experience with administration in higher education and global engagement (preferred)
