Job summary

TerraPower LLC in Bellevue, WA seeks a Lead Data Engineer to guide a team of data engineers, DBAs and BI developers in building data integration, governance, and analytics capabilities. You will partner with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into prioritized work, while advancing data pipeline architecture and quality practices.

You will lead hiring and onboarding, shielding the team from churn, and represent data management in leadership discussions, shaping the function's strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years in data engineering/BI with at least 2+ years leading technical teams
• Self-directed with ability to build playbooks and guide teams

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and support a team of data engineers, DBAs and BI developers
• Escalate blockers, manage cross-team dependencies and prioritization
• Partner with stakeholders to translate data/reporting needs into priorities
• Evolve data pipeline architecture standards, data-stack, BI tooling strategy
• Own hiring, onboarding, and team-structure decisions for the group
• Represent the data management function in leadership discussions
